A multi-site church is best described as one church in multiple locations. From meeting in different rooms on the same campus, to having different locations across the world, multi-site churches can take a variety of shapes. A multi-site church shares one vision, one leadership, and one budget – existing as one community. To unify the church experience across sites, multi-site churches use tools such as centralized programming, teaching teams, or video streaming.
Southridge has made the decision to become a multi-site church to not only deliver the restorative message of Christ to a greater degree in our lost and broken world, but also regionalize the existing Southridge community. Members of Southridge live throughout the Niagara Region, in locations such as Niagara Falls, Lincoln, Welland, Niagara-on-the-Lake, Grimsby, Fort Erie, etc., not just in the Glenridge neighbourhood of our current location. The shift to multi-site will better enable all of us to be the church in our own geographic communities.
For Southridge, multi-site will be expressed through both unified experiences at all sites, but also customized elements appropriate for each location. Weekend services, for example, will all hinge on centralized programming delivered through a live worship experience and a video teaching experience.
Also unique to each site will be a social justice anchor cause, based on the same values of the current Glenridge shelter. These anchor causes will create additional opportunities for the family of Southridge to be the hands and feet of Jesus, living a lifestyle of Action.
